Walk-In Shower Curtain Measurement Guide

Measure a walk-in shower curtain by the actual rod path, opening overlap, ring drop, and intended lower clearance.

Start here

A walk-in shower does not have one curtain size. Measure the installed straight or curved rod path, add only the side overlap your layout requires, and measure from the ring or hook reference to the chosen lower edge. Verify the curtain and liner separately; sizing cannot guarantee water containment.

How to measure

    Measure the usable rod or track span and record decorative finials, returns, bends, or overlaps separately.

  2. 02

    Measure the finished drop from the attachment point named for the selected heading to the intended lower endpoint.

  3. 03

    Convert inches and centimeters only after recording the original measurement; use 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters.

    Compare the calculated target with the exact product label, package quantity, heading take-up, and manufacturer tolerance before ordering.

Use the opening and return geometry

A walk-in opening may be straight, cornered, or partially screened. Record each relevant run and the curtain’s intended overlap rather than importing a 72 × 72-inch tub convention.

Measure along a curved rod

The arc is longer than the straight chord between its ends. Use the installed rod path or the manufacturer’s stated working length, then confirm how the rings travel.

Keep curtain and liner measurements separate

The decorative layer and liner can have different finished sizes, hole positions, materials, and lower endpoints. Check both labels and the selected rings.

No containment promise

Spray direction, curb geometry, gaps, movement, liner behavior, and the user all affect water. This guide provides neutral measurement help only and does not guarantee containment.
