For a large window, calculate total flat width from the full working track or rod and the chosen heading ratio, then divide the result into practical panels. Stack-back, seams, pattern matching, and manufacturer hardware limits deserve separate checks.

How to measure

    Measure the actual working rod or track width; if hardware is not installed, record the window-frame width and your planned side extensions separately.

    Measure the drop from the reference point stated for the selected heading—not from an unrelated edge of the window.

    Check whether a package contains one panel or a pair, then compare total flat fabric width rather than the label width alone.

    Recheck the selected product, tape, hooks, carriers, and fabric before ordering or cutting.

Do not size each pane separately by default

If one treatment spans the opening, use the full working width unless the design intentionally separates window sections.

Panelization affects use

More panels can reduce handling width and help access doors, but the joins and pattern repeats must be planned.
